Name That Plane
« on: November 30, 2014, 12:07:52 AM »
So, here are a few relics rotting away in the Antelope desert that have been here for as long as I can remember.
The first one is a very peculiar machine, almost as much for how it came to end it's days here in the high desert as it's unusual design.

The second plane is fairly ordinary except for the little addition above the main wing spar.

The third machine is readily recognizable but the history of this machine will surprise you!

First 2 are spot on Dog! I am truly impressed. The first one is an Argosy. The third one though, was the easiest and I am quite surprised you missed it. You'll be kicking yourself when Ted comes up with the answer.

Well thats cool..  :icon_biggrin:  On the third I was thinking Douglas DC-C model of some kind or even a Junker JU of some kind but could not think of any with a nose wheel, Than thought Lockheed of some kind but the nose looks to round for any thing I could think of, and again the nose wheel its really messing with my mojo...LOL... Now the suspense is killing me...

Last plane is a B-25 converted to a post war executive plane.

Give that old, grey haired gentleman in the back of the room a cigar!! This was Howard Hughes' personal plane that he apparently took somewhere with some little starlet and just left it on the ramp.
