Yeah, unfortunately any mission prior to today won't have the pod included.  In the past when they introduced a system, we were able to slap it on.  Oh well

I wonder if you went into ME and clicked "Save As" on an older mission and rename it or add a newer V number if that would then make it a newer mission and include the pod.

EDIT: Or go into an old mission and save the entire mission as a template. Then reload the template as a new mission. I bet that would add the pod.

EDIT#2: I just tried my "Don't know yet" mission from last week and the pod is available, so it is available for older missions.

So, what you're saying is, if I go back to a Hornet mission that I made 6 or 8 months ago, I would not be able to select JDAMs or JSOWs??!! Have you tried it? I think that Sparky's idea sounds pretty good!

I'm wanting to set a Voiceattack command to turn on my FLIR (POD) but I can't find anything labeled that in my controls. Is it called something else? Has anyone else set a command or bind for this yet?

I believe that it is done through button 6 on the DDI.

I believe that it is done through button 6 on the DDI.

But there is a FLIR On/OFF/STBY switch on the right control panel in front of the Radar selector knob.  In the video Wags turned that sw. on first. Can't find that switch in the controls section.

Ah so, you're right. I remember now. As a matter of fact, there are two more switches to the outboard of that one that I believe are used in conjunction with the pod. I just watched his second mini update video that discussed using the Pod with LGBs and Mavericks.

Those two switches are not modeled in the controls.  But don't forget to bind the defog switch.

OK, dropping a GBU using the targeting pod in TOO mode isn't too bad at all. Super accurate and pretty easy to understand. Pretty fun to use. I haven't used laser guided munitions yet, just played with the GPS guided ones so far. Now the downside. The darned FLIR on/off switch is in a terrible spot if you're in VR. If you can't suck your own dick while twisting sideways then you're not going to easily access these switches either. You're going to have to totally adjust your point of view, turn on the FLIR switch and then totally re-adjust your point of view. A real pain in the arse. I certainly hope that they will set these switches up in the controls soon so they are able to be bound to a HOTAS or Voiceattack command.

See my edit #2 above.

I'm a dumbass.

The POD is there, only on the centerline station and not the cheek.

Who the hell swaps out a bag of fuel for a POD?

It will eventually be able to be mounted on the cheek, according to Wags. Time to get jiggy with the basket!!  :Rofl
