Anybody Having Problems With Throttle in Hornet??
« on: May 30, 2018, 07:53:17 PM »
I can't get my throttles to work in the Hornet. TM Warthog. Axes assigned and Idle cutoff set for both sides as well. The stick and rudders both move while sitting in the cockpit but the throttles have yet to move. I even tried the "finger lift" buttons for both sides. They move but not the throttle.

throttles have to be moved from off position to idle position before the axes will work...think right engine is right alt + home etc...

I have the "Off" position mapped but when I pull up and move forward, nothing happens. I set the plane to a hot start and had the throttles both forward in the idle position and everything was peachy! They both work as advertised buy when I pull up and move the throttle back as when you are shutting an engine down, they do exactly that but will not move back out of the cut off position.  I moved over to a Harrier, where I have an identical set up mapped to the RH throttle and it worked just like it is supposed to.

So, I know the throttle is working in game. All of the other switches and buttons on the throttle that I have programed are working as they were mapped. I am certain that I am missing something and I am sure it is going to be something really simple! :BangHead:

I got it figured out. There are at least 3 different ways to program the throttles - Idle, Off, Idle/Off. I tried the first 2 and finally the 3rd one was the charm!  :tongue3:

Slowly but surely I am getting things set up in the cockpit. I have made it around the pattern a couple of times just trying to keep the AoA on speed while controlling altitude. I have made to successful landings on the runway. After dinner I will try it a couple more times and then go out and hit the boat - hopefully not literally!  :tongue11:

I just saw and was going to say it needs to be Throttle (left) - off/idle and the opposite for the right side.

Does the F-18 come with pre-assignments for the Warthog like the A10 did or do you have to go through the complete setup?

F18 is not XBox

Got to program your basics and MFD's

F18 is not XBox

And neither was the A10

I am assuming that setup for the MFD displays the same as the Harrier or do you have to program every individual button?

Ya know, I was told that the MFD's were supposed to be pre-programmed for the Harrier but I didn't see that. Prior to programming them myself, if I pressed the bottom middle key on one of the MFD's, it did not result in the Menu key on the MFD in the sim being pressed. So I had to go in and redo them myself. The TM MFDs' buttons are numbered 1 - 20 starting at the upper left hand corner and go clockwise from there. All of the MFD's in the sim for both the Harrier and Hornet start their numbering at the lower left hand corner and go clockwise from there.
