Exploding F4F-4's
« on: June 17, 2015, 09:09:28 PM »
Looks like there is a fix for this, but I can't seem to find the files

Hoss, if you're out there, what do you think?  Fireball?

I can't find them either, but if I read that thread right, it's HSFX related

Yeah, this problem definitely came with one of the HSFX versions, 6.0 I believe. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

Sounds like it's in .sfs file. You wouldn't  find it then

See if this solves the problem. It's a little JSGME mod.

I narrowed it down to the one file that seems to be causing the problem. This mod just replaces that file with the original file from the stock game.

In JSGME you can activate it at the end of whatever other mods you have activated. You'll get a couple overwrite messages, but that's OK.

Well, maybe I was a bit premature (that's what my wife has been calling me for years!). All the planes spawn on deck without a problem, but when I release the chocks, it destroys the plane next to me. This is the case for all 4 positions across the deck on a Jeep carrier. If I take the 4th slot and allow the first 3 to launch, no problem. On the Yorktown, where there are 2 flights and I am in the lead of the 2nd flight, I am #5 on the stbd. side and must wait for the first 4 to launch before I can release chocks. The only question left is, how will a row of human occupied planes react??

Yes we are! My guess is, if all 4 a/c in a flight are occupied by humans, there will not be a problem since you don't have a collision box while on deck.

Just ran that Flight 300 as a coop and I took the #2 slot in the first flight. Released chocks with no problems at all. Seems like Fireball has solved it for coops at least.

Upon further investigation, it appears that the problem is peculiar to the Jeeps and the RN carriers Illustrious, Formidable and Indomitable but not the Eagle. The Essex class, Yorktown class and all the CVL's are no problem either. The question still remains, will this be a problem on the affected ships with humans in the adjacent planes??

You are Da MAN Fireball  :notworthy:  Thank you very much for taking the time to do this.

Checked Jeeps, RN carriers in the FMB with no problems at all. Also rechecked Essex class and CVL's with no change. I'd say the problem is solved.

Thanks Fireball!

I'll be glad to make F4F-4 missions again.
