Hey all. Im on my phone so it might be off in spelling, sorry.
also, I dont know if this has been shone bwfore but I just read it, and with the DBS-Midway op coming up next week, I thought id share this-

 http://www.defensemedianetwork.com/stories/midway-the-sole-survivor-of-torpedo-squadron-8/

I know Ted will enjoy it. Its a great article, and a primary source- by the one man who made it back. Good info in there too for my fellow VT guys on how to stay alive, what worked, and what didnt.

FWFS, looking forward to flying on your wing Ted

There are some great books on the TBD.  May I suggest the Osprey volume "TBD Units", I think that may even be a free download somewhere...

And for a great overview of torpedo squadron ops and VT-8 specifically "A Dawn like Thunder"  It covers the story of the Other "Sole Survivors" of Torpedo 8 on 4 June, Bert Earnest and Harry Ferrier, who got their shot up TBF back to Midway.

I look forward to the Midway match, I hope there isn't too much ass-pain.

Enjoy the lake!
