Ship Dot Range

I am going to set my system back up to a single larger monitor for the upcoming campaign. I cannot see ships until they render. I may have to turn the water settings down as they seems to make a difference. CobraJ i will post my conf.ini here tonight when I get home so that you can't a look at it. I have not been able to see dots for a long time now. When I turn the water settings way down to basically flat blue then the dots will appear. Otherwise I have to be right on top. This started before I setup the 3 monitors so not sure what the deal is. Any ideas?

Ok, we'll post conf then too. Post what resolution you are using or want to use too.

Ships that I have seen (when I was able) in the distance have always shown up as white dots in the distance. Aircraft will show up as black but the ships are always white guessing because of the water background. At least that is the way I have always seen them.

1024x 768 baby!!
Looks like crap, but you can see everything for miles!!!
I am pretty sure I would have missed Razor and Thud the other night if I was running 1980x1020.

This is definitely related to resolution. When I run the TH2G resolution 4320x900 no dots and can barely see the aircraft. Even on a single large monitor no dots until they render if I run a higher resolution. Should have been listening to Hawg all along. If I run a resolution of 1280x720 on my big monitor then I can see everything just fine. Anything better and no see um!!
Fireball- is there anyway to do a mod to set how many pixels make up a dot? That would be only way to fix this for higher resolutions.

There's always a way. I don't happen to know offhand what that way is. :)
One of the new things for the soon-to-be-released 4.12 is widescreen support. So we'll see, maybe they've done something about the dot sizes in different resolutions.

Problem is your aspect ratio is making less pixels. IL-2 outputs a 4:3 ratio image, nothing you can do about that. Too wide and not high enough. Lower res and you'll see them but it will look like poop as you have found out.
