Thrustmaster Warhog Throttle - POS
« on: March 09, 2021, 03:48:00 PM »
First Razor, now me.  I'm starting to feel like TM products have become dog poop.  :BangHead:

Done all the usual steps like driver reloads and swapping USB ports...no go.  I plug it in and the lights come on for a second, then out and control panel shows a malfunction, error code 10.  This thing is less than 2 years.   :sad5:

verifying windows updates now.

I got almost the exact same thing. The four little lights up front by the friction knob blinked on for just a nanosecond then it was darker than the hole of Calcuta.....or is that, the Whole of Calcuta?? Anyway, I never saw any error codes other than windows telling me that the damn thing had malfunctioned and was unsusable. It did not show up on the Target GUI nor in the control columns in DCS Controller section.

yup, same exact scenrio.  The error code shows up in device manager.  Found some info about using an older PC and convert the firmware to an older version.  That will have to wait.

I tried to update the firmware but one of the requirements was for the device to be connected and functioning correctly :BangHead:

I connected it to an old laptop with Win7 and it fails too. Its looking like a a bad circuit board which appears pretty common.

I sent a message to TM support to get details on a replacement board. Also found that their is a person in Canada well known for repairing them.   If too expensive for a replacement I might send it off. Undecided.

I could be wrong but I think they sell the boards (somewhere) and they aren't suppose to be difficult to replace.  Basically plug and play I believe.   Quite a bit of stuff on the forums about "bricking" throttles and such.

That “somewhere” seems to be a mystery to buy the boards  I can only find the ebay link for the guy who repairs them.

Note to self and you guys, if you order the replacement circuit board from Thrustmaster, don't expect them to be in a hurry.  They surely are not.   :angry3:

$7 for shipping - it should be reasonably fast.  Where is it coming from, Tanzania?
