CSS vs Attitude Hold

After all this time flying the Hornet, I have just learned something new about the auto pilot! So.....when you're humming along trying to get those pesky coordinated put in for the JDAMs, you can use CSS instead of messing with ATTH.

Any pilot that tells you he's never been lost is either lying or he's never been anywhere.

I have always been in the habit of pressing the A/P button and then selecting either Heading Select or ATT Hold before letting go of the stick to concentrate on something in the cockpit. Now I realize that all I really need to do is hit the A/P button and the plane will continue on in the direction and attitude it was in when I let go of the stick. I never knew that before.

This is based on assumption, but the biggest advantage might be easier tweaks to the attitude if for example you need a small correction to your heading.

Someone on the bottom of that thread said that they were going to try using it for AAR. I'm curious about how that works out.
