2.5 Rumors?

Are there any viable rumors about when 2.5 is being released? I have reinstalled 2.0 but am declining to install 1.5 at this point. Could this possibly be a Christmas surprise or are we talking late next year?

DCS World 2.5 by the end of January

Did I hear someone else say that the Hornet would come with 2.5 or is that not true?

No, that is not going to happen. They even explained the order of release above in their news letter. 2.5 will come out late next month as a stand alone download and then we can get rid of 2.2 and 1.5. There is still a lot of worl left to do on the Hornet and I would not be at all surprised to see the Tomcat released well before the Hornet.

I personally would like to see the 14 over anything else (except the P-47 of course) but I think they will release the Hornet AND Hormuz at the same time.

I read a little more about the 2.5 release. The beta version will come out as a patch for OpenBeta 1.5, turning it into OpenBeta(?) 2.5 and OpenAlpha 2.1 will cease to exist - I guess as far as ED is concerned and 1.5 will remain but unsupported. So I assume by that that we will see 2.5 servers and 1.5 servers, at least for a while, on the DCS multiplayer page.

The stable version of 2.5 will come as a stand alone download. For those of us that might be challenged with available space on their gamer's primary storage device maybe we, as a squad, should decide which version we are going to use? My vote would be for the beta version since it seems that it is always the first to get the latest updates.

I do not want to have two different versions on my machine. I would go for 2.5 beta if that is what everyone else wants.

Yeah, I'd say stick with 1.5 beta for now, and update it to 2.5 beta as soon as that comes out. Since it's due out in the next 30 days (or less), if people want or need to delete 2.1 now to make space, we can just stick with the Caucasus map for next month or so.

If the issue is the missing CCIP line, there's definitely a line there now.
