Well...thank you.

I did use my new-found distinction (and my forum administrator powers) to add one more name to the list.

(I know that wasn't your intent Cobraj, but you deserve it if anyone does.)

Not so fast there Skipper. You need to tell us the story behind that callsign before we retire it for all time! :icon_biggrin:

My callsign is easy. I'm a Ford nut as most know. At the time I was building a 70 Mustang with a 429 Cobrajet engine.
I bought Aces of the Pacific
http://www.listal.com/game/aces-pacific-pc-games
I think it was my first sim. Then 1942: The Pacific Air War, then Warbirds and some Janes Collection.

When I went to play online I typed in "Cobrajet" because most games where taking 8 characters. Well I got to Warbirds I think and typed in my "Cobrajet", connected to the game and saw my name was "Cobraj". This sim only allowed 6 characters. Basically from that moment on I went by "Cobraj"

When I first started flying IL-2 several years ago with Croaker and Renegade, at some point we decided we were cool enough we needed call signs. So, for some unknown reason, probably alcohol involved, I came up with 'Fireballs'. Croaker's original callsign back then was 'Shtick', and I'm pretty sure Renegade's was 'Dritz'.

But anyway when we decided to started flying in public, instead of just amongst ourselves, I decided to make mine a little less risque, so I just dropped the 's' and became Fireball.  :icon_biggrin:

Mine came about a little like Cobraj's. I started flying in Warbirds and didn't realize there was a limit on the number of characters for the username. I didn't even realize that what I was typing was going to be shown to the public when flying online. I just thought I was registering my account with the Warbirds folks so I started out typing "Rserwin" and it came out "Rserwi". When I joined up with a couple other guys called The Volunteers, the leader of the group pronounced it "rizweee" and decided to call me Razor. I have kept it ever since.

Well my Callsign dates back to when I was with the CAF 96th and flying CFS-2. New to flight sims, computers and the whole online thing. I had picked some cheesy name (I don't even remember). After flying with the group and my flight lead (teacher) for a while he had made the comment that I was like some damn bulldog that latched on and wouldn't let go, after I chased him around for an hour (seemed like) then shot him down when we were doing some kind of head to head practice. Anyways that night he had me change my name and I have had it ever since. Some of you probably remember Doc from later on. Anyways he is why I am now the Dog!! I miss that drunken Alabaman Fireman...LOL
