Presets and FC3

Has anyone tried creating radio preset text files?  The instructions are pretty brief. I created one for the UH-1 using the example in the thread below but its not seeing the file.

FC3 aircraft is actually pretty simple. You can change the frequency manually from the in-game overlay.

While not an FC3 aircraft, I tried creating one for the F-86 Sabre (anarc27.txt) but it didn't replace the default channels either (and since you can't actually set a freq in the Sabre that's a Bad Thing).
I plan to revisit CiriBob's video on the topic to see if I can figure what the exact problem is, but so far, No Joy for me with that feature for that aircraft. I'm also planning to look at that for the F-15, but haven't got to it as yet.
Of course, in the Huey, you can still manually set dial-in the freqs, but having proper presets would be nice.
