As you cycle through your external views, this mod changes the camera viewpoint when viewing all aircraft carriers. The viewpoint will be approximately where the Landing Signal Officer (LSO) would stand. This gives you an interesting vantage spot to watch aircraft landing on the carrier. You can use either your mouse, TrackIR, or your hat-switch pan/snap views to move the LSO Cam around.
To install, first open up JSGME and deactivate any earlier versions of AG-51 LSO Cam. Close JSGME, then extract the 'AG-51 LSO Cam 2.2' folder in the zip file to the 'jsgmemods' folder of your game. Then open JSGME and activate the latest version of mod (move it to the list on the right).
Compatible with HSFX 6.0+. It may work with other modded versions of IL-2, but it has only been tested with HSFX 6.

Version History
===========
2.2
- Fixed a bug that caused the game to lockup under certain conditions when using the 3-D view in the Full Mission Builder.
2.1
- Changed default view to face the stern (rear) of the ship. This makes the LSO Cam easier to use with the mouse and much more natural to use with TrackIR. Also, the hat-switch pan/snap views now work appropriately.
2.0
- First public release
-
I updated the LSO Cam to version 2.2 in the original post.
This new version fixes a bug that caused the game to lockup under certain conditions when using the 3-D view in the Full Mission Builder. Specifically, in the FMB when you had a static ship selected and you press the Enter key to go into 3-D view, the game would immediately lockup in most cases.

Wow, that was fast! Thanks Fireball!

Works like a charm. Thanks Fireball.

My god fireball, that view is awesome. Now I can finally set the view and step back from my computer and grab my signal flags. Especially because I usually never return back to the carrier in one piece. ... this is gonna be so awesome. How hard would it be to make a second view near the conning tower?
-
A tower view shouldn't be hard to implement as an option. I'll take a look at that next time I have occasion to mess with the code.

That's where I used to hang out, "Vultures Row" on the Island, not Conning Tower....................... that's what a Wog would call it..... ...... I can see we need to cross the equator and have an initiation........
Who's got the lard and olives?.................. I'll be the Royal Baby.........
We have any more shellbacks in the group?

Golden Shellback here matey. Crossed the Equator at the International Date Line back in '72 on board the LPD-6 Duluth. Got the crap beat out of me by a bunch of Stewards Mates that had it in for junior officer wannabes :sad5:
Conning towers are on submarines, islands are on carriers
