I'll be honest, out of the three upcoming releases (F-18, Harrier, F-14)   ... the Tomcat was at the bottom of the list.   key word in the last sentence = WAS     The dedication by HeatBlur, and their willingness to share these little details here and there have been amazing.  Can NOT wait to park this thing 5 ft below glide patch on the back of the carrier

I never believed that ED would allow the F-14 to be released before Matt's F-18. Looks like it may have worked out best for us, the buyers. From the sounds of it Heat Blur has really laid down the ground work for future products like dual cockpit capabilities and not to mention other higher tech instrumentation etc...

As much as I appreciate all the realism they go into for these modules, I sometimes find myself wondering, what's the point??!! 95% of the simmers out there don't want to mess around with all of the complexities, and more importantly, the TIME it takes to accomplish the more mundane aspects of operating an extremely sophisticated and complex aircraft such as the Warthog, Mirage, Harrier, Hornet or Tomcat. I appreciate that it's there but I hate the fact that getting it designed and included in the module adds months, if not years, to the delivery. It's like the "Wind tunnel" thing for the P-47, or the ground mapping radar for the jets.

I can't help but feel that they are planning on an A-6 or an F-111 after the Tomcat!! I know that RAZBAM has indicated that they are planning to do an A-6 but just the way these guys answered the question about what's next, left me with the feeling that it is going to be a plane with a crew of two, a pilot and a BN or WSO based on their Jester technology. Since the F-4 is already well on the way to being done by Belsimtek, and RAZBAM HAS indicated a desire to do the Intruder, I would be willing to put a bottle of Scotch on the Aardvark as their next project.

Before the end of winter will see the release of the eagerly-awaited Tomcat! Brought to you by the same team the developed the extraordinary AJS-37 Viggen, the Tomcat will set new benchmarks in PC flight simulations. Following the initial release with the F-14B, the Heatblur team will follow that up with the F-14A version and a free USS Forrestal-class aircraft carrier!

Featuring front-seat and back-seat play for single and multiplayer, the Tomcat is a dominate fighter with the capability to also devastate ground targets.

Took a test flight. Gonna need some curves in my joystick, she's touchy! Was hoping I could ride in the backseat in single player but evidently not, so someone's going to have to let me in their plane to practice if I'm going to be Sabot's RIO Saturday. Was pretty cool to go to F2 view and watch the wings move as I got on and off the throttle.

I'm pretty sure that you can get in the back while in a single player mission, it's just that the AI pilot, Iceman, isn't up to much besides holding an altitude and airspeed. I have gathered this just from reading the forums, not from personal experience......yet!!  :tongue3:
