Recommend a 460 nVidia card or newer with these settings. Try it. Copy your old conf.ini first so you don't pork it up.

Which of these settings do you think will render ships farther away? I passed relatively close to the ships several times last night but could not see them until after I started recieving flack. Other settings are friggin awesome. I was seeing high contacts I believe as high as 10K over the top of me.
-
I'm pretty sure the key to seeing ship dots from a distance is to lower your video resolution for the game to 1024x768. It won't look quite as pretty, but you should be able to spot ships easier. They'll show up as little squares long before you get close enough to see the actual shape of the ship.
Here's what the [window] section of my conf.ini looks like:
[window]
width=1024
height=768
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=1
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=0
EnableResize=0
EnableClose=1
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0

Bump Thud

Sorry for late post. OMG what a difference, maybe too much. Terrain and water is frigid awesome. Difficult to see target object but I'll figure it out. Thank you for the help.
-
Thud, is your native screen resolution 1920x1080 or other? Maybe look in nVidia Control Panel where screen size choices are and see what the next screen resolution choice is that is lower. Pick one that is a 16:9 aspect ratio (may have to Google the number to see if it's 16:9). The game has to support the size too.
-
Just divide the width by the height. 16:9 is 1.778 ... ie: 1920 / 1080 = 1.778 = 16 / 9 ... :grin:

Now I need to know math? I QUIT! :tongue2:
